As we begin 2022 I decided to reflect back on some of my favorite purchases from 2021. I've compiled a random assortment of beauty, fashion and home.
Abercrombie Dad coat
There is just something about this coat that makes me feel like a million bucks. It is so chic, classic and makes everything I wear look better! I also really appreciate that it comes in petite, which is key for a proper fit in outerwear for me.
Conair Steamer - the extreme steamer is a product I use weekly. When pulling out an ironing board and iron seems to much, this little steamer comes to the rescue. I hang my garment over my bathroom door and it quickly takes the wrinkles away from all kinds of fabrics and various styles from silk and ruffles to wool and cashmere!
This ultra creamy concealer is the best product I've found to help with darkness under my eyes. Previous products I had tried seemed to settle into my fine lines and end up drying and looking bad within a short ammout of time. This formula is moisturizing and covers really well.
I have a sensitivity to many sunscreens that causes a burning sensation. Supergoop sunscreen is an oil free, clean sunscreen that doubles as a primer. My skin is also prone to dark spots and pigmentation from sun exposure and this product has prevented this!
I am a huge fan of Jo Malone fragrances. My obsession is Wood Sage and Sea Salt which is simply beautiful!
Studio McGee vase
I love McGee & Co's modern traditional style and have enjoyed so many of their products in the Studio McGee line for Target. Working for an interior designer and home stager, I am exposed to so many gorgeous home decor. This rustic vase was one we styled in a few different properties and I fell in love with it. This particular item is out of stock but the vessels, vases and pottery from Studio McGee this season are spectacular too!
Levi's Wedgie High Waist Crop Straight Leg Jeans
This pair of denim was a part of my Nordstrom Trunk Club box. I really love the fit. These are a thicker denim, being 99% cotton. They are high-waisted, straight-legged and cropped all of my favorites!
Black Crew Neck Sweater
A classic closet staple that I've gotten a lot of wear out of this year. I found mine at Ann Taylor, but J.Crew , J.Crew factory and Everlane have similar styles. The versatility of this piece is the best. Whether layering under it, wearing a layer over it or wearing it solo it always looks chic. I wear it with distressed denim and sneakers but also trousers and heels. It's a closet work horse!
IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser
I had tried a sample of this product years ago and loved it - but I stuck to my cheap cleanser. My skin was feeling really dry this winter so I finally purchased this. It is hydrating, smells refreshing and works for my sensitive skin and rosacea.
I read and listened to over 100 books in 2021 and narrowing down my favorites was hard but these three topped my list - humor, mystery and historical fiction.
Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano
Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Loafers have always been a closet classic! This year I found a pair at DSW by Corso Como - they were majorly discounted and incredibly comfortable. They remind me very much of the Madewell Frances Loafer and the Everlane The Modern Loafer.
My favorite handbag this year has been a super affordable Amazon find. It's a Gucci dupe, that looks more high end than it is. It's a great size for everyday use and I love that the strap is changeable.
2020 was the year of the mask, which meant lipstick wasn't always on display. But I did learn that when on zoom , having lipstick on can make you look just a little more alive. My favorite lip combo was Urban Decay's glide on lip pencil in Broken and Maybelline's Lifter Gloss in silk. I find that when I fill my lips with this pencil, the color really lasts.
