Ulta is one of my favorite places to shop for beauty products. I love that they have a selection of higher end items as well as drug store finds. Ulta has exclusive items that can't be found anywhere else. I love their large selection of hair and makeup items and their staff are always so helpful if you need assistance.
Here are some of my ULTA must haves:
I always start off with primer to ensure my makeup goes on smoothly and lasts. I am a fan of the affordable Angel Veil from NYX.
I love this foundation (Medium)- it Cosmetics CC+ cream! It is full coverage, has SPF and works well for mature skin.The Bye Bye under eye concealer (light tan) is the most forgiving formulas as it doesn't settle into wrinkles as some other brands do. I am also a big fan of Benefit's Boi ing hydrating concealer. the core is the color corrector and the outside is a soothing moisturizing stick.
For blush, I have been really into liquid formulas. Nars orgasm is a universally flattering shade and this liquid has lasted me for a long time. A small drop gets swiped onto the apples of your cheeks and gives a nice flush.
To add a bit of dimension I love using a highlighter. I have tried a lot of different bronzers to work on contouring, but have yet to find one I'm really happy with. This highlighter however, is the best I've found. Colourpop (Urth) has It's a stick formula and I like to just dab some on my ring finger and apply it to the top of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, inner eyes and a dab on the cupids bow of my lips. It catches the light beautifully without being too much.
Eye makeup always begins with primer and my favorite is Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. I love how this evens out the tone on my eyelids and allows for a smooth application of shadow and makes it last longer. This little tube lasts a long time too!
One of my favorite new eyeshadow palletes from Ulta is Nude Mood by Colourpop. this pallette is affordable and has some really fun tones, both matte and shimmer. I love the bronze tones! There is a bit of fallout with this product, so be sure to tap and remove excess with a large brush. I find with any more affordable shadows fallout is inevitable.
My OG fav will always be Urban Decay Naked pallete.
For liner I am a fan of Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on eye pencil. I have the color bourbon which is a warm brown with some glimmer!
I recently started using eyelash primer and it is a game changer! I have only tried Lash Paradise but it really works great. It makes any mascara go on thicker and longer. As far as mascara, I really don't have a favorite - still on the look out! But I am currently using and happy with Too Faced Better than Sex.
Eyebrow liner is another item I can't live without! I have tried a lot of higher end brands and while I love Anastasia', I just don't think it lasts long enough to justify the price. I have been really pleased with Elf's ultra precise pencil as well as the super affordable instant lift brow pencil.
One of the features that I look for with lipstick is it has to be long wearing but not drying. Of all the products I have tried, Tarte lip paint has been my favorite (color = bestie). It goes on smooth, matte and lasts without making my lips dry. If I want a bit of shimmer I like to top it with either Buxom in hot toddy or Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Topaz.
